I thought that we need a thread to post music that you like and maybe want others to discover. I'm a huge music lover (have about 150 gb music on my computer) and a drummer myself and i love to share my musical discoveries. I start with a retro artist called Botnit. His actual name is Jim Govoni and is from Boston. He makes 80's style electronic music and is part of, what you can call the retro scene, with artists and bands who loves the 80's electronic sounds. The biggest artists in this genre is probably Kavinsky and LazerHawk.

My two favourite artists at the moment are Avicii and Pharell.. I'm more the pop type. Avicii's single "Dear Boy" is the one I love the most!

Avicii is a bit too mainstream for me. Even though i listen to some what you might call mainstream music Avicii is just a bit too much for me. Me personally listen to almost any genre from East coast gangsta rap from the 90's to grunge (im a huge grunge fan) to 80's pop. But to honor your danish heritage i'm gonna post this hard rock song from the danish band Volbeat. This band has a lot of pop melodies combined with awesome guitar riffs.

It's 6:00 AM here but before i sleep a bit i just have to post this masterpiece. Lazerhawk is from US and is, as i wrote earlier one of the biggest retro electronic artists out there. This track proves why.

If you ever played the first Gran Turismo on PS1 you probably have heard this band. Their song Lose Control was in Gran Turismo, and even though that is a great song i've always loved this song more. The band is Ash and it's from the record 1977.

I saw Teddybears live a couple of years ago. Strange band. They had giant bear masks on them. But it was a solid perfomance even though it's not anything that i usually listen to.
I know Buckethead mainly from his time in Guns 'n' Roses and of course the album he did with Les Claypool, who is also a really strange dude. But he can play that guitar man. Even though i'm not into instrumental music that much (unless it's retro electronic where i almost prefer instrumental) The only instrumental song i can think of that i really like is Glasgow Kiss from John Petrucci but much of that comes from that it's really fun to play on drums. The ending drum part on Glasgow Kiss is insane. I don't know how many blisters i have got from playing that over and over again.

Here's a song that i heard first time about a month ago on Letterman. The band is called Future Islands and have been around for a decade now but they have just got a recognition. And i mean 700k views recognition of their network debut on Letterman with a David Letterman going crazy over their performance at the end (especially over their supercool frontman Samuel T. Herring). Their newest album Singles has just been released and i really recommend it. Kind of Indie/Eletronic pop with vibes of 80' New Wave. With spring coming i find this song really appropriate, i find myself overwhelmed with a spring feeling when i listen to this song that is calles Seasons (Waiting On You)

Alice In Chains is onfe of those bands that formed my teenage years until now and probably will continue to form my life until i die. The band got huge commercial success together with the three other major Grunge bands, Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. Every one of these bands had their own sound within the Grunge label and you could say that Alice In Chains were the heaviest and darkest of the ''big four''. The lyrics were very inspired from the singer Layne Staleys battle with heroin which he battled most of his adult. This song is from their EP Jar of Flies they released in 1994, which predominantly was acustic which was a bog difference from what they had recorded earlier in their career. After they released their self titled third album they went on an hiatus on while only performing live once on MTV unplugged 1996. That was going to be the last performance with Layne Staley who was found dead early April 2002 almost exactly 8 years after another Kurt Cobains suicide.

This dj duo is two girls from Sweden named Rebecka and Fiona. They gained fame when they had a tv-series in Swedish national television about being girls in music industry and especially the house music scene. The song starts with a beat and really begins at 1:45. And you have to listen to the sick drop at 3:00. Whenever im in charge of the music at parties (which is always, cause i have best music taste and can feel what kind of music that suits different situations...fuck humility) i always put this on.

The best Johnny Cash has made was the cover of Soundgardens Rusty Cage (that was on Radio X in San Andreas)
