Well, yes. There's only one Football. The other ones have their proper names. Australian football, Gaelic football and pussy rugby.

This is the only stadium in the world to have hosted two World Cup finals: Estadio Azteca. Where, in 1986, God himself scored on a semifinal against England: In America, too.

I have heard the term America's many times before actually. A lot of people just call the western world the America's because of North and South. Even Canada gets thrown into the "Americas" for that same reason.
I personally think "Soccer" is the real Football as well. (Makes perfect sense to me) They should just call American football Soccer and end the confusion once and for all.

For me: America = whole continent, from Anchorage to Ushuaia, more or less. N.America = México, USA and Canada. Central America= Caribbean, South of México (Chiapas and Yucatán), and from Guatemala to Panama. S. America= from Colombia to Argentina. So, I don't get how other Americans let the Americans call themselves the only Americans since all of you are Americans. But it's ok if it works for you, same for the soccer thing or the automatic cars.

Well, yes. There's only one Football. The other ones have their proper names. Australian football, Gaelic football and pussy rugby. Technically this version of football is Association Football.
If anyone is interested, here's where the US got the term "soccer": The word was derived from Association Football, which was the original term given to the game in the 1860s at the elite schools that spawned the sport in England. The abbreviation “Assoccer”, which became “soccer,” was used by the British upper classes of that period. When the sport was embraced by the less fortunate, the name of “soccer” was passed down. But most commoners used the word “football” to describe their new game.
It's Britain's fault we call it soccer! It's funny because British people tend to be the most annoyed that people from the US call it soccer.

Well that is a bit of history learned today. I played soccer for 12 years and even when I was a kid I always thought it was stupid that it wasn't called football. I am comfortable with blaming the British for the alternate name to the sport.
