Watch the Uncharted 4 trailer if you want to see some serious graphics!

Can somebody tell me why all of these people are asking for this to be available on steam? I really don't understand what the big deal is. Almost every other post on the social club is asking about this and it boggles my mind. Steam is the most widely used "platform" for PC games and it works well. I think a lot of people would rather see V exclusively on Steam instead of another GFWL type deal like we had for GTA IV, which apparently caused a lot of headaches.

I think GFWL is shutting down?

I think GFWL is shutting down? It is (or already has? I'm not sure) but they could always replace it with some other shitty service, I guess. Plus, having it on Steam would allow people to connect in a way that wouldn't rely solely on Social Club, which can be pretty spotty at best.

So answer me this, why is everyone so dead set on the PS4 version? What would turn you off on the Xbox if you're already on the 360? Why wouldn't you just get that version so that you don't have to pay a subscription fee to an entirely different service?

My XBOX Gold runs out in December and I planned on getting a PS4 because most of my friends that had an XBOX went to PS4 as well. I still have no intention on purchasing GTA V on new console unless there is a real reason to do so. I don't give a flying fuck about graphics if the game doesn't perform or offer anything new that makes me think it is a worthwhile purchase.

Well, if it doesn't crash that's nice, but why a PS4 aside from friends factors? I don't find their exclusives all that interesting, but is there another pull? Is the system better than the Xbox or is it just simply personal preference?

There's not a huge difference in the hardware. Other then the PS4 having faster RAM they are pretty much the same... for hardware. Software on the other hand, the XB1 is filled with software unrelated to playing games, so you can do all that non-gaming shit like send messages over SKYPE, yay?. That extra shit running in the background takes resources away from the games themselves so the games end up running worse. Typical Microsoft bloat in their operating systems, on the PC it isn't such a big deal because you can just add more RAM and\or a faster CPU... but in a closed system like a gaming console... chug chug chug.

Another thing, did you not see all the shit microsoft originally tried to pull? They may have reversed their policies but it turned everyone anti-xbox1 which hasn't really reversed.

First impressions last. Screwing with the consumers never goes over well.

Yeah, I remember. I just like their games better which is what it has always been about. A lot of the Sony games seemed very... Japanese? which feel very different from games I enjoy playing. In any event, I was curious as I had owned a Playstation 1 & 2 in the past, but had migrated to Xbox due to the games and multiplayer network they had in place. I haven't had that pull to switch back yet so I was wondering.

First impressions last. Screwing with the consumers never goes over well. I thought this as well, but have you seen how much positive feedback that R* is getting for doing this? It's actually insane in my opinion. If you check the R* Newswire there is nothing but praise for them releasing it on PC and next gen, the same goes for facebook. Anybody who even followed the game (not purchased) would still have knowledge of all of the bugs and exploits that we are / have endured. They aren't even getting any bad press about the current state of the game which is still sub par. Take all of that and wrap it up with another $60 price tag and you apparently get the fans drooling and possibly another Billion $$$ in sales.
I honestly never thought that a company could get away with something like this but apparently I was mistaken.

I think we were a testing ground for R*'s online system and that we were essentially "beta" testing the online portion for them until they got the true release of the game ready. I think the current ports were just their way of stemming the tide until they could polish things up on the next-gen ports. Personally, I think it was a smart decision from a business standpoint as it is definitely going to make them some extra cash regardless. From a fan standpoint it sucks because there's so much more they could do with the online portion, but I'm guessing a big part of the reason that we've been getting minimal content is so that they could get this out on the newer systems. I suspect by the time they release the game on them, we'll start seeing them utilize their in-game store and see some DLC coming down the line as well. I'm sure, even, that they'll start unlocking character slots and everything else (probably for a price) here in the near future. And all that single-player content/music will be in the new console version as well. Unfortunately, we can't do anything but wait, but at least they're delivering ports on newer gen systems since I wanted the game on PC when it was first announced anyway. Now if only I could get Red Dead there too.
