Reading up on this a little since it happened to me 7 times tonight, the first below link states that some people where able to resolve the freezing issue by clearing their cache on their 360/PS3

Of course I'm not saying we should all do this right away but if it gets to the point where you're getting really angry about it then this could be an option, should be straight forward after which you will be asked to instal the updates again.

Could be worth keeping in mind if the new High Life update doesnt fix the problem.
