Had a good turnout to the biker event so I'm going to revisit this idea and setup a Parachuting (stunting) event.
This ones going to be a little different as it will involve a capture I made specifically to do parachute base jumps off of Chiliad. I've tested this capture with a few crew members and we had no problems sandboxing in the mission for hours on end. I've also expanded the idea of the capture and added ramps around Paleto Bay to stunt from. So if you're into trying out the adrenaline junkie thing, sign up and I'll setup a date.
I'm not sure if we can take pictures during a capture, which sucks, but finnhale is in and he can capture video which rocks.
Next event TBD.
We will do the next stunting event in a free roam session. I'm going to open this up to the crew for ideas. Got a stunt you want to try post it here and I will make a list. Next event that's what we will do.

OK, that didn't quite work out as planned. Note to self and crew, using the Titan wasn't the best plan. Was kind of funny though watching people jump out of the plane and right into the Titans propeller, next time use Shamal or Luxor. Landing on a road also didn't pan out very well with the AI traffic and eventual police presence. So if we want to do multiple jumps it's probably best if we bail over an airfield, so there's a place to land for another go... or use a Cargobob as it also can carry ten people.

Whoever want's to do some jumps feel free to add me to your friends list. As always VCCM the request so I know your in the family. If anyone wants to try some wingsuit type free falling down the side of Chilliad, I'm looking to try that too. We can take a helicopter to get in position above Chiliad then jump and the pilot can pick everyone up for multiple jumps... and I'll gladly take my turn as pilot so everyone can jump.

Hey crew. It's pretty tough to do multiple jumps in free mode because you have to keep working your way back up the mountain to do another jump. So I decided to try and make a base jumping\wing suit\stunt way to play using the capture creator. Basically it's a GTA capture that I made so people can parachute off of Chiliad multiple times.
The way it works is you spawn on top of Chiliad. At the top I put a bunch of Sanchez's, some cars and 20 parachutes. You grab a chute and jump anyway you want. When you get to the bottom you simply kill yourself and spawn back on top of Chiliad, grab another chute and go again. When you are all done you just jump back down to Paleto Bay and drive the vehicle into your base to finish.
I've tried to test it, but doing the radom invites to this kind of specialized game play just doesn't work. So if anyone is into base jumping, wing suit flying or stunting off of Chiliad in cars and bikes let me know and we'll either organize a time to play or just give me a shout if you see me online and I'll fire it up.
EDIT Played this last night with another crew member and it worked like a charm, worked better then expected even, we stayed in this one mission for over 4 hours... heh R* must be like WTF. Some things need tweaking, I'll do some work on it then post it.

Made some changes to my special capture. Added cars and stunt jumps around Paleto to play with. Remember this is a special sandbox capture, the point isn't to complete the goal, it's to paracute, wingsuit and stunt. Thinking I might try this out as my next event. What say you? EDIT: Here's the Base Jumping - Chiliad capture if anyone wants to try it out. Oh ya FYI I added a ramp to the highway bridge over Raton Canyon so you can enter The Xander Zone. |
