methinks you got a little banned syndrome coming on, stop trying to start a flame war I'm not trying to start a flame war. I'm rationally discussing the merits of the last generation of consoles. The Stockholm comment was a joke, hence the winking smiley face... but whatever, if not agreeing with everything people say is considered flaming then I'll just keep my thoughts to myself.

The xbox had it's problems in the beginning for sure w/ the Red Ring of Death, but there is NO DENYING that xbox360 won the last generation console war. The xbox live community is much more vibrant, our xbox live service didn't get hacked and go out for MONTHS like PSN did. And the PS3 doesn't even come w/ a mic. Shit... the PS3 doesn't even have party chat like the xbox does. I'm sorry, but there is absolutely no advantage I see to having a PS3 over an xbox 360. Now if we're talking about next gen consoles, that's a completely different story. I'll be getting BOTH. Will get the PS4 first, then i'll be getting the xbox one later down the road when halo comes out. But I think the Xbone still has more potential than the PS4 at this point. Kinda hard to tell how things will play out. Heh there's no denying your totally wrong. The Wii blew both the other consoles out of the water last gen, wasn't even close... and the PS3 outsold the 360, so technically the 360 came in last... and factor in how many people had to buy 2, 3 even 4 360s over the years. So you got a mic, um ok, know what I got. 6 years of not paying to play online (not to mention dealing with the 360s XMB adfest) upgraded to 500 gig with a standard HDD (not forced to pay MS for their over priced exclusive HDD) 360 does have the party chat though, I'll give you that. As for the hack, Sony didn't hack themselves. If someone steals my truck I don't blame Ford. If you want to play the hack card then ok, the 360 is the worst when it comes down to hackers 'in game' it was hacked early and often. My PS3 experience has been, until recently, free from that headache... methinks you guys got a little Stockholm syndrome going on In terms of sales, the one of the reasons the PS3 was ahead is because of the RROD that Xbox had in the beginning. Sony has also been in the console market for longer, therefore they have a bigger loyal user base than microsoft. But lets be clear here, we are not talking about 'sales'. We're talking about overall experience and which one ended up being the best received. PSN is free, but the experience of PSN is pure garbage compared to the Xbox Live service. And part of that is due to the fact that the PS3 doesn't come w/ a headset, therefor, most people don't talk. Not only that, but xbox live always gets exclusive dlc before PSN on most games. We have the most exclusive titles. Who really gives a fuck about Killzone? Halo is where it's at!!! And don't even get me started on that shitty PSN interface. I would rather pay a small fee to have the better online experience than to get a shittier one for free. Networks don't hack themselves, this is true. However, poor security leaves your network vulnerable and that's what happened with PSN.

You don't blame ford for a stolen vehicle, but you do if they make shitty locks...
Playstation was awesome because it had all the exclusives. Now it doesn't. Case in point GTA.

They still have God Of War and I wish that Tekken was still Playstation exclusive.

I would rather pay a small fee to have the better online experience than to get a shittier one for free. Networks don't hack themselves, this is true. However, poor security leaves your network vulnerable and that's what happened with PSN. Yup Microsoft with all their software experience definitely had the upper hand on security, but they also didn't have to deal with a concerted attack by an established hacker group. Sony learned a hard lesson the hard way, they screwed up taking away functionality they originally sold their product on. I can give them leeway there though because they did it to try and keep the games themselves secure... course their reason was probably self serving to prevent pirating of software. We didn't have the in game cheating issues the 360 has had, AFAIK, pretty much since launch. But either way it's software, secure software is an oxymoron. I don't blame Microsoft people hacked their console and I don't blame Sony people hacked their network. I blame the shitheads who actually did it... I do, on the other hand fully blame Microsoft for releasing a faulty product to market and then trying to make their customers pay for it. I won't go to exclusives. Suffice to say I think it's total monopolistic bullshit. It's BS when Microsoft does it, it's BS when Sony does it. I take no pleasure that I can play games other people can't play and I definitely didn't make my purchase decision based on it. As to the mic, I totally agree that the vast majority of players I encounter online don't have one and can see how that would drastically effect the whole online experience. Has even affected playing with the crew as a lot of people on the PS3 side don't have or use mics. But, hell the very first thing I did in GTAO was mute everyone (except crew and friends) because it's just a mess of screechers and assholes. Playing with people who communicate (maturely) is definitely the best way to play. It's something I've overcome though by simply collecting friends who have mics, so with a little leg work I get the same online experience. Party Chat on the other hand is a definite bonus and I wish Sony would have implemented it. Can't really comment on the XMB, I've only used the Sony one and don't have any problems with it. I have heard though that the Live XMB is a total ad fest and has been progressively getting worse and worse (with advertising). I can tell you unless I actually go to the Sony store I will not see one single ad on my interface. Killzone 2 multiplayer was a blast actually, good game modes and nice large well made maps... single player was, meh, a scripted rail shooter.

Just a note on next gen. The reason the PS4 is out performing the XONE isnt a hardware issue. I doubt anyone is really utilizing the faster RAM at this point. The problem is the XONE is running three different operating system kernals all the time so it can do all those non gaming things. The PS4 on the other hand is dedicated to gaming, no bloated software slowing it down.

Xbone party chat system is a mess. It's unnecessarily difficult.

Yessir vipr9 I remember being in the 8th grade and talking shit about the newly released "Xbox" because the PS2 had all of the exclusives and xbox didn't. Wow, how the tables have turned. That's your opinion. I disagree. The Last Of Us, the Uncharted trilogy, God of War and Journey may be in top 10 this generation of games. The Last of Us and Journey is definitely in top 10. The Sony exclusivity is not what it used to be but that's mostly because of how the industry has evolved. Most companies would be stupid to only release on one console today, with a few exceptions.

And non of them games you mentioned are "top 10 of this generation". Are you kidding me, Most of the games that fit that bill are cross-platform. (i.e. GTAV)

I'm so sorry for all XBOX players that they can't experience The Last of Us. The story is absolutely amazing, you get deeply emotionally attached to both Ellie and Joel and a lot of times you will sit speechless of what just happened, gameplay and graphicswise. The game is so brutally beautiful you don't even know what hit you. Just watch the first chapter of the game on youtube.

I agree with what Kennie wrote that if you have not yet experienced The Last of Us you are really missing out on something. And Journey mat be the best indie game ever made. It has ten times the more emotion and atmosphere than most AAA titles. www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/journeywww.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/the-last-of-us
