The PS3 VCCM Film Academy
Join us on the PS3 side as we begin to crossover into more creative, fun, and unique activities. I (PSN: xXKiddkasHXx), have started a film club for the PS3 side of the Vice City Crime Mob. You can consider this a video production company whose objective is to provide creative illustration through visual media. The academy will be rostered with Directors, Assistant Directors, Actors, Actresses, Camera Operators, Best Boys, etc. Those in the academy will take part in helping create Promotional Trailers, Music Videos, Commercials, and possibly a few short films. This is just another avenue VCCM is expanding into in order to give our members something more to do and become a part of.
Production Company Positions
Director (1 of 2 Positions Available) - This person is the vision behind the production. He/She knows what angles to shoot, how the cast should be dressed, what environment is best, etc. This person generally works side-by-side with the Assistant Director as well the the Screenwriter in order to make the production come out the best it can.

Assistant Director (1 of 2 Positions Available) - This person is the Directors right hand. If the director misses anything, this person will be on it to remind them. The AD may also give ideas towards the vision of the production, scout additional locations, and also lend a hand in directing the production cast.

Camera Operator (4 of 4 Positions Available) - This person operates the camera (must have a video capture card and recording capabilities). He/She doesn't really have any creative input but they are the best at making the Director's vision come to life with precise control of the camera.

Best Boy (3 of 5 Positions Available) - When there is a scene in motion (car chase for example) this is the person driving the car for the Camera Operator (with the Camera Operator riding as a passenger) in order to give him/her the best shot possible. They also supply the vehicle used for the Camera Operator to use in order to achieve a certain camera shot (standing on top of a Sedan gives you a different shot than standing in the bed of an off-road truck such as the Sand King).

Video Editor [Post-Production] (1 of 2 Positions Available) - This person receives all of the video recordings and edits it all together to fulfill the Director's vision. Generally, after this person finishes, the Sound Editor will take over.

Outsourced Actors/Actresses (Infinite Positions Available) - These people are hired to be the features of a production. They will portray the characters that the director wants them to portray. They are a great at following directions, they are patient, and they are reliable. If you want to be an Actor or Actress, you will need to be someone who will be able to regularly get on during certain days (usually weekends) to work on any given project of a Director.

Q: How do I become a part of this?
A: Fill out the formatted application provided and xXKiddkasHXx will message you regarding your application.
Q: How do I know when we will be doing a video shoot?
A: I (or another Directer) will be posting "Casting Call Flyer" events in the "Events" board. This "flyer" will tell you what's being shot, what days it will be shot on, what people and positions are needed, and the requirements necessary to qualify for that particular video production shoot. Within the thread of the flyer, members of the Film Academy will be able to state that they are interested (although this does not guarantee a position if the Director already has certain people in mind).
Q: Do I need to actually act?
A: No, not necessarily. Each flyer will state what type of video production it is. Generally, "short films" are the productions that have Dialogue in them. So if you don't want to do voice acting, then avoid this kind of flyer. If you would like to do some voice acting, then this is the fly for you.
Q: How do I become selected for a particular project?
A: Well, by filling out an application here, you become part of a "pool" of Production people. When a Director is deciding what they want to do for a new project, he/she will decide the people they need and then look here to see who's the best fit for their production team. Also, generally, a Director will select those who are regularly active, easy to get along with, not easily distracted, etc. So it's good to make a good impression on a Director so that he/she will think of you when they decide to start a new project.
