Best way to learn is take airplane or helicopter to max altitude. Jump!
As the gamer, you'll want to find the "sweet spot" on the left stick by push it up or forward about 1/3 to 1/2 way.
You'll see your character's position change. Arms will come back. Palms will rotate toward you as gamer. Slipstreams will come off hands and feet. Once you find the "sweet spot," you'll notice the horizon change as you move more horizontal than vertical. In the "sweet spot," you can also turn and change pitch.
