When I go to launch the game it seems to get stuck on that first slide of the girl getting arrested with "loading story mode" at the bottom. The loading wheel keeps spinning but the slide comes all the way out to the middle of the screen and stops. X for online never pops up and it never cycles to the next slide. I've tried power cycling my network equipment and reconnect the PS3 to the wifi, I've tried turning the PS3 off and back on, I've ever tried expletives directed towards both the game disk and the ps3's mothers. The other day it just randomly worked again, but here I am stuck on this damn loading screen again.
Help me VCCM-kenobi! You're my only hope!

Oh my goodness, this legitimately happened to me, word for word a few weeks ago :\ I actually e-mailed Rockstar because I wasn't sure what to do, and they gave me a whole bunch of suggestions but the first one was to update my PS3. I did that and there was actually an update it needed and for whatever reason, after it completed and installed the update it seemed to be fixed and has been working ever since. I hope this helps! |

Okay so thanks to that kid now I have to redownload all the updates.... ugh... I was hoping to actually play the game today but at this rate by the time I spawn I'll have enough time to go sell a gang car and then hopefully I can get some time in on Friday.
Cellonomics I'll give that a shot too just to be safe. It's weird though because usually if there's a PS3 update the system wont even run until you download it. Worth a try though.

I watched that exact same video and I was scared to take the advice of some kid :\ but since you're already re-downloading the updates give it a try and see if it works for you. If not then try updating your PS3, it might help. When that happened to me I was like whyyyyyyyyyyyyy  |

Okay so redownloading the updates seems to have worjed. I guess we wont know for sure until I try loading the game again.

I have had problems getting stuck on loading online, so I go to story mode than go to online and I'll be fine. Any idea what is the problem is? it is kind of similar to yours.

Well mine I couldnt even get the game to load at all.
Yours almost makes me think a network hiccup either on your side or rockstar's. Or if you have an older system, replacing your hard drive might be in your near future.
