Ok, so this is more for the XBOX side due to the fact that some of us are split on which aiming type we should be using. But I am also curious about how you guys are playing on the PS3 side as well. We have been playing GTA Traditional Aim since day one but as time goes on and since we joined the GTA Online Families, we have become more familiar with Free Aim. If you vote on this poll I am requesting that you also comment on why you voted the way you did.

Now this surprises even me, but I am onboard with switching to Free Aim. I really do enjoy the challenge that comes along with this. Even Gang attacks in free roam are tough on Free Aim which is pretty cool. Another thing that I find with Free Aim is that it eventually makes you a better player. We also ran into a couple crews last night that are Free Aimers and we had some real competitive matches outside of our scheduled fight for the GTA Families Online.

Rather than locking on or going to Free-Aim, I think assisted aim would be the better option. Don't get me wrong out of my 3k+ kills, 1k+ of those kills were Free-Aimed kills. However, I hate the way the X,Y axis for the Right Analog are set up on GTA. I'm accustomed to playing actual shooter based games (which I am usually a Recon Sniper) and when I move the Right Analog to move my cursor, it moves accurately. However, on GTA5 there is a latency between the time I move the Analog and the time the cursor moves on GTA and it bothers me to no extent. If there was no latency, I would be game for free aim. I would do it, all day, everyday. But R* didn't set up the game to be a shooter, unfortunately for me.

Just to start this message off, I did not vote on the poll. When you're freeroaming at the minute, you're fucked if you run into people which are auto-aiming, therefore I usually do the same. When I'm doing missions and such I only use freeaim when the enemies is out of range, although the heavy sniper is my weapon of choice. So all together I use autoaim as it is the easiest way to stay alive, but if I have the chance I go for free-aim as I use my sniper 60 % of the time.
EDIT: I'm gonna spend the day using assisted aiming - maybe switching to freeaim at some point.

As mauzzy politely put it earlier... AUTO AIM IS FOR PUSSIES!!!!!
If I run an auto-aim lobby, it's only because I'm having trouble filling a deathmatch lobby in free-aim. What's the point in playing a deathmatch where skill is not required though? In auto-aim, it's just a matter of who who shoots first. It makes it way to easy for people with NO skill to kill you. Not to mention free-roam sucks in auto-aim lobbies. In auto-aim lobbies, people are more likely to try and kill you for no reason, in free-aim lobbies I find that it happens a whole lot less.
Not only this, but auto-aim takes some of the fun out of the game for me. I like a challenge. And I like to know the people i'm fighting against are actually EARNING their kills and not just pressing the trigger until it locks on to someone.

I only really use auto aim because first you can never fill a lobby with free/assisted aim and second there are always little fuckers with auto aim in free roam trying to blow your face off. So I like to use auto aim in free roam. But if I can, I like to use assisted aim on missions and DMs. (I need to practice on free aim lol)

I have no problem with free aim or auto aim. It just pisses me off when I get put into a free aim match and people clearly have auto aim. Another thing that makes me mad is people using the minigun on free aim.

You know how when you die holding the mini gun you lose all your ammo? I died in a TDM last night holding it and it fully filled up my mini gun ammo 9999 lol

Free aim. I still prefer auto aim in free roam just to even things up but when it comes to death matches I don't enjoy auto at all anymore.

There should be an option for people that don't have a preference. I use whatever aiming style the lobby is set up for.

I can live with either, but I prefer free aim. You need skill rather than just pushing a button to automatically aim at somebody.

On the XBOX side all we play is Free-Aim. We found it much more rewarding and it makes you a better all around player.

I have a real hard time in free aim. Probably just not use to it.
