I usually run crew lobbies when I'm attempting to do stuff like sell or reorganize cars (which is most of the time). If you haven't already, you might want to set your aiming preference to Free Aim as it splits you into different lobbies depending on your aiming preference. That also helps you get into games with the rest of us (along with friending, of course). Aside from that, you can host one yourself, but I've found that most of the members roll in random lobbies. If you go that route, you can set your chat to Friends and Crew in the "back-button menu" and that will only communicate between, obviously, your friends and crew in the lobby. Kind of works like a party chat which you can also do.
In any event, friends some of us and join in our lobbies at least. Then you won't be playing by yourself.
