I heard that the thing to do used to be Criminal Records set to 99 laps which got me itching to do some epic endurance style racing. 99 Laps of criminal records however sounds atrociously boring and I thought there could be better. Not just better, but "crew'spired" as well. So... since the Sultan is our crew car I set out to create a race that provided both wide open and technical sections on both tarmac and dirt. The end result is a 3.84 mile lap around the airfield! Now... 99 laps of 3.84 miles would take a long ass time... so I'm proposing an initial "King of the Sultan" challenge (there can always be a "return of the king of the sultan" lol) of 10 laps. This would total to just about 35-40 minutes of racing. As that is a lot of time to commit I will post the link to the track here and would be contenders can provide their feedback of how the event should unfold. Dear God please let there be a full 16 people interested in this. Hopefully there will be plenty of opportunities for photos and shenanigans after. I'm thinking either this coming Sunday or sometime next weekend. I have a medical procedure on Friday and I don't want to interfere with the bike meet on Saturday. Anyway. Test out the track (in a sultan of course) and post feedback of how much you'd be able to handle in a single sitting. Does the RS mod change performance? I didn't make mine an RS to keep it as plain as possible for sneaking up on people...

According to Wiki its purely cosmetic but if nything I would assume maybe a slight edge in handling?
The stock Sultan I did my tests with clocked 3:30 ish laps and my fully modded RS clocked 3:15 ish laps. You could always run a practice race and see where your car lands.
Also due to my medical procedure Friday the 6th seems like the best day. I'll pick a time once I see who all is interested and make sure we can all make it.

Okay what day works best for folks this weekend. Based on the turn out at the biker event I'm think noon PST on Sunday works pretty well. 10 laps seems like the magic number. Also I might host a few practice runs this week of maybe 2 or 3 laps so heads up for that.

Date and time set. I didn't want to take away interest from some of the activities this past weekend. I chose the time based on the concentration of VCCM tags online around that same time. Hopefully we can fill a lobby again.

Okay so just did a trial run and with 7 people and 4 laps the 1st place payout was $17,800. 3 laps was 15,600 with 6 people and 5,000RP.
I'm thinking instead of one major long race I will do a play list. Maybe I will create a few more sultan based tracks too. This way if anyone feels the need to back down they can between races but those who want the ultimate victory can fight it out and make some $$$ in the process.
Also if anyone else had a race designed with the Sultan in mind let me know and I'd be happy to make this a collabrative event.

It was a very good track and you were kind enough to let me win.
Sultan wise, I find the dirt sector after the airport a bit too long. Dirt just slows the car but there's no danger because the Sultan sticks to the road. When we raced muscle cars it was more fun, you have to be alert. But this is just a minor thing, the track is great.
I designed a track in South Los Santos for the Endurance Event that was meant for Sultans as well. I think I'm going to modify it, because I don't like the jumps anymore. (I hope the link is working, I can't log in R* Social).

Yesterday I found a beautiful road on one of Ducks' races. I'm going to start from it to create a second Endurance race and we might start a good playlist of long tracks for Sultan races.

Thanks to some medication I have to take I have insomnia and couldnt't sleep last night. I was up when kennie22 signed on!
So I banged out another lap and a P2P race!
I want to feature dirt in a rallycross style since the Sultan is in part based on one of the greatest rally cars of all time. But that was one of the challenges in each race. During the testing phases the speed penalty on the dirt gets old fast, however sometimes there's just not a fast enough route back to pavement. At least it gives a chance for everyone to catch up.
I'll give your races a shot and ho from there.
