I am wondering if there is anyone who is currently serving in the military or retired and have served?

RMwestdrifting supposedly was (he took an early retirement from the crew) So was Dead Fox, supposedly. Both on xbox side, both Canadian military. There was one other guy from when the crew first started, I think vipr9 knows. Defiant, maybe?

Currently in the DEP (delayed entry program). Signed up for the U.S. Airforce when I was a junior in highschool. I'm a senior right now about to graduate, then I leave on September 2nd for Basic Military Training in San Antonio, TX. Should be fun.

I'm thinking about possibly joining. Not my first option by no means, but I wanted to get some insight to those with any kind of experience.

Well I've been in the DEP for over a year and meet with my recruiter every month for talks and a pt test. Its a great option but obviously not for everyone. I chose to enlist for the education. Free TA (tuition assistance) while active and of course a G.I. Bill for after my tour. I couldn't go through school knowing I had thousands and thousands of dollars to pay back right after I graduate.

I also have plenty of family members in the military, including my brother who just left 2 years ago. He left after highschool and is currently in Coronado, California. He's in the Navy and already has experienced so much.

Sorry for the spamming here but just one more thing to say. All branches of the military are different and you should choose the right branch for your interests if that's what you plan to do. There is more than likely a recruiter from each branch close to where you live and most would be happy to explain the pros and cons of their branch. Just remember, some recruiters are ASSHOLES and will tell you want you want to hear instead of what's true to get you to enlist. Of course they get a nice pay raise for it too. So my advice would be to talk to a recruiter from every branch possible and also research at home and make sure you aren't getting messed around.

I am going to see a recruiter tomorrow with my sister and mom. I was talking to my mom [she's active duty]. I graduated in December and have loans due back in July. I have a major in Finance, but I think I want to train in the field with computer programming and/or cyber-security. If accounting/finance is available, that is also still an option. Thanks for the insight. More is always appreciated. I do want to make sure I research because I don't want to make this decision lightly either way.

I went to the Army recruiter today. He asked me to come back in on Thursday with decision. I am still considering and possibly leaning towards the Air Force as everyone says that is highly recommended if I decide to join. Life decisions lol.
