I thought the "Crew Challenges" thing would be sweet to play around with, but I have zero idea how they work. I know how to set one up, but from there I don't know what happens.
For those who are unfamiliar I make a playlist, I run through it and set my time/score/whatever and place a wager of at least $1000. From there Im not sure what happens, so I created a challenge appropriately called "Test Challenge". If someone would try to beat my time, and let me know what happens that would be excellent of you. To find the challenge in the pause menu:
Online > Playlists > Challenges > "Test Challenge"
I set it up so it's just a quick race (Criminal Records) and at the end I sat at the finish line for a bit so that you should be able to beat my time (I think it was around 2:20). You'll have to wager $1000, but I believe if you beat my score you'll actually make $1000 on top of whatever the race gives you already. And I believe if you dont beat my time, the money that you wager goes into a pot for the eventual person who beats the time.
If it works the way I think it should, it could be a great way to issue challenges (wouldn't you know?) to each other. Think of how competitive the Time Trials are, and then add in gambling...
