Does anybody else have a bit of a backstory they like to pretend their character has online? Some of you might have head deep stories, some of you might have a general idea of "who" your character is, I'm just curious. I know for me I have this small backstory that's nothing elaborate, but it shapes the outfits I wear, the cars I own etc. Kind of makes it a bit more fun for me to very loosely roleplay like this. So I'll start:
I like to think that my character grew up around Vespucci Beach, frequenting the skate park with his high school friends. He began selling weed at the skate park as a teenager and slowly expanded outward to other areas of the city, selling more and more and eventually starting to grow his own pot in his apartment. As marijuana is a gateway drug for users, so is it for sellers and he began pushing other, harder, product as well. When looking to expand his operation even further around the time VCCM came to town, a chance meeting with a few of the members who offered him some protection and some financial help for that expansion (for a small cut of course) set him on the path we find him today. VCCM in exchange received his trust, commitment, and most importantly his local knowledge and contacts while they were setting up shop in Los Santos.
Curious if anybody else has a similar story or if maybe I'm the only crazy one.
I also just like to pretend Lemur wears a mask all the time because he's a burn victim and/or very, very ugly.

This is the story of Viktor Calhoon. An only child born in the northern wastelands of Siberia with no other other siblings, Viktor was born into a rough life. His mother had died while giving birth to him and therefore never knew a thing about her. With winter being present 8 months of the year and an abusive father, he vowed to leave his homeland behind from a very young age. There were times that he was permitted to watch an old black and white TV when the weather was too bad for even his father to work and it was the television that allowed young Viktor to dream. The television show Miami Vice would draw his father into the same room and during this show silence was expected. The old man would laugh while sucking back potato vodka and Viktor was always glad for a reprieve from the beatings and slave type labor. Viktor thought to himself that if this city called Miami could make his abusive father happy than maybe that was where he needed to go to get away from this hovel he now dwelled in.
When Viktor was 13 he was hired by a man name Boros Vladikov. Boros was a known member of the KGB but he was only a trafficker for vodka and marijuana. Viktor's dad tossed him out of the house and swore to break the neck of his only child if he ever returned. Viktor didn't even care a bit. His father was a nobody and always would be in his opinion. Boros would let Viktor drive his old pickup truck while he drank, smoked, and sang Russian songs at the top of his lungs. He lived with Boros in a tiny hut in Yakutsk and although life was better than it was, he still longed for the beaches and temptations of "Vice City". Having worked with Boros for the past 4 years, Viktor had saved almost $10,000 and he was going to leave Russia and head for America. But his employer would have none of that. Boros and his other comrades had seen much potential in young Viktor and had plans for him going forward.
One day when Viktor returned to his apartment he saw Boros sitting at the kitchen table with a gun in his hand. His trusted friend clearly had something on his mind and Viktor was truly confused as to what all of this meant. He was informed that he would be taking a plane to Moscow and would begin military training in a special ops division thanks to the KGB. When Viktor explained that he didn't want this, his mentor and friend pointed the gun directly at him. Boros reminded Viktor of who he was involved with and told him to be ready first thing in the morning. But Viktor had other plans, he knew that once he was in the grips of the brutal Russian military that there would be no escape. After Boros fell asleep that night Viktor stole the mans truck. The airport was a couple hours away and he had to get out of here as soon as possible. While Viktor's mind was swimming with a mix of emotions, he barely noticed the military jeep that had snuck up behind him on the snowy road just outside of town. There was no chance of escape in this piece of junk truck so he pulled over. With his heart racing and his mind swirling, Viktor reached into the glove compartment on the passenger side of the truck. That was where he kept a Ruger pistol that he had only shot at bottles and sign with. He tucked the gun into his inner jacket and waited for the military men to approach. They immediately dragged him from the truck with out question and started to beat him mercilessly. Luckily there were only 2 of them present. Viktor was no stranger to a beating and could give as good as he got when it came to a brawl, but this was no normal fight. This was a fight for his life. He was able to grab the gun in the scuffle from his left inside pocket, lifted his arm and shot behind him. A window of opportunity was open. The other man had an assault rifle slung over his shoulder but was caught completely by surprise. His hands slipped on the gun when he tried to take aim at young Viktor. That was all the time he needed, he shot the soldier in the shoulder and stripped both of them of their weapons. Viktor went back to the military jeep and grabbed the keys before getting out of there. To this day Viktor doesn't remember driving from the scene of his first shooting to the airport. He was able to get out of Russia and was well on his way to Vice City.
To Be Continued....

I tied the beginning cinematic into my character's backstory. He comes from a small town where he was involved in small-time crime. He met a friend of Lamar's who introduced him to Lamar. My character came to Los Santos to get involved in the lucrative drug trade. Upon arrival, he got involved in much more than just transporting and selling drugs. He also did street races, assassinations, and tons of stealing. He was working mainly on his own with loose ties to a few different gangs before he heard of the Vice City Crime Mob. He applied and was accepted into the mob as an expendable crewman, but he's survived this long.
to be continued.... (probably not really)

On the sixth day, God created Lemur in his own image. He then blessed Lemur and advised him to be fruitful. He also made Lemur ruler over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day.

I never really thought about it, lol. I just use my character and Grand Theft Auto in general as a gateway from the real world. I always have.

My character is part of GTA - Gay Transgender Acceptance. Her name was Don, but after an unknown Island of Dr. Moreau incident, she woke on a beach with a woman's physique. She still has her male genitals as the $30 prostitute service shows. She now goes by the name Belldonna. She travels San Andreas trying to uncover her mystery transformation from male to transgender while being accepted by the VCCM. She really likes parachuting has it gives her the feeling of freedom and adrenaline.

I'm like dawnofthedeadling. I use my character to do the things i can't in real life, like run over motorcyclists or explode assholes's cars in the traffic... you know, normal stuff of the daily life in a congested city. But if you push me... I have this nickname for more than 10 years, i got it when i played Age of Empires II online, and zone.com generate the "Stellated Ace" nick for me. So... my character is has the ability to resurrect every time he get killed. He has been dying since the medieval ages (i sucked at AOE) till the actual time. He change the sword and the horse for an assault rifle and carbonizzare, and now he enjoys the advantages of modern time. After all, it is better die fast by a bullet in your brain, than die slow and painfully by a sword in your stomach.

I don't have a backstory for my character, but if I had to classify his personality I guess I'd call him a friendly sociopath. Under most circumstances he's very polite and non-violent towards people who don't provoke him but he feels absolutely no remorse about killing people who do, in the slightest.
If you're homeless, my character will go buy you a sandwich and tell you to have a nice day.
If you throw that sandwich at him and complain that you'd rather have money to buy booze, he'll very calmly walk to the liquor store, buy a bottle of everclear, dump it over your head and set you on fire.

I tried giving my character parents resembling Tommy Vercetti and Mercedes Cortez. I like to think of her as their daughter who left Vice City after her parents were killed when Tommy got too soft and tried to retire.

My Characters backstory is:
Growing up on the streets of Southside Chicago being beat up and chased by gang members was the daily life for him until he met a guy that introduced him to drug dealing, illegal street races, and contract killing soon after join a local gang of young thugs he quickly rose through those ranks and became a shot caller but lacking the true family and finances he was longing for he caught a plane to Los Santos and met up with his west coast connect Lamar where he met the Vice City Crime Mob who offered him the family and money he longed for in exchange for his services. He vowed from that day forward to kill all that opposed VCCM and their wishes and be a money maker for his new found family
